Description of service
I had my teeth whitened at my dentist last year as a holiday gift to myself. The cost was $550.00 for the whitening treatment. That price included the one hour treatment and also a tube of prescription strength whitening gel (one application) and trays to use at home. The procedure was preformed not by the dentist, but by his dental hygienist. The entire process took an hour. They brought me into the exam room, pried my mouth open with a large prong, and filled my cheeks and gum's with cotton and then dried my teeth some more with an air gun to make sure all moisture on my teeth was gone. They apply the gel, very heavily, to you teeth and then adjust the laser so its shining directly on your teeth.
Review of Service
I was very happy with how the whitening treatment turned out, my teeth were extremely white and pearly. The only aspect of the procedure I was unhappy with was having to sit in a dark room for an hour with my mouth pried open, it was very uncomfortable after awhile.
Tips
If you are a smoker, wine or coffee drinker this is probably not a good investment for you. After only about 2 months my teeth started to fade into that light yellow again. ( I am a big coffee drinker and I also smoke.) I did use the whitening taken home treatments I was given and that did perk them up a bit. I was never able to achieve that same original whiteness though. I continue to purchase the take home gel which runs $20.00 a tube. I also would advise to bring some headphones and listen to music or a book on tape while your undergoing the one hour treatment, it gets boring in there!
