Description of service
The cost is for two treatments at a center that specializes in electrolysis to work on removing hair from her upper lip. My wife got a slight price break on the package because she paid for two sessions in advance. During the electrolysis process, a needle is inserted into each individual hair follicle without breaking the skin, and an electric current is sent through the needle to damage the follicle.
Review of Service
My wife was getting tired of having her upper lip waxed on a weekly basis, as it was something she was embarrassed about getting it done, so she asked her dermatologist about electrolysis in order to remedy the situation. However, after two treatments, she was not able to continue with it, because despite the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, she felt that the treatments were far too painful to be worth continuing. A high amount of pain is apparently fairly common with this service.
Tips
Definitely do not undergo this procedure if you do not have a high pain tolerance, as my wife strongly felt that it was not worth it, and only went back for the second session to see if it got any easier. It did not. She wonders if it might have been better if she got it done at a doctors office, but is not too interested in finding out because of the possible pain.
