Description of service
The forty dollar a month fee at the health club I belong to includes as many aerobics classes as you want to take; however only six aerobics classes a week are offered so although technically it is an unlimited number of classes, in reality it is limited to six classes a week. I am usually only able to make it to three a week, but it is still a good value compared to gyms where you pay by the class for aerobics classes. In addition to however many classes you want to take, you get a good value for your forty dollars a month. This membership fee also includes lots of personal attention and instruction from the teachers, and use of the equipment used in the aerobics classes. This includes steps for step aerobics, stationary bikes for spinning classes, weights and resistance bands for interval training classes, exercise balls, and mats. The fee also includes use of the rest of the facilities at the health club, such as the free weight room, nautilus room, cardio equipment, swimming pool, racquetball courts, gymnasium, locker rooms, sauna, and showers. You can also get discounts when the health club sponsors events such as 5K and 10K races.
Review of Service
This is a very fair price for the service you get. All aerobics class instructors are certified and required to take a certain number of continuing education hours in order to remain certified, so they are well educated and kept on the cutting edge of new developments in physical fitness and exercise. They are well trained to give you pointers and instructions on your technique in class and overall fitness questions. The teachers' training shows in their ability to do a good warm up and cool down, as well as a good cardio workout, making sure to check students' pulses several times during class to make sure they are working their hearts at the optimum level. There are a wide variety of classes offered, from kick boxing to spinning, to step aerobics to interval training. The ability to use the rest of the facilities at the health club is also great, the weight room is a good supplement to aerobics classes. Taking these aerobics classes has helped me to lose about twenty pounds over the last year, and tone many muscle groups that had previously been weak. The instructors seem to truly care about the students and their fitness level and progression.
Tips
It is important to check out a health club and its aerobics classes before you commit to joining. Most health clubs require an initial membership fee that may be a substantial amount to initially join, and some clubs may also require a longer commitment than a month at a time. However, most health clubs will also let you use the facilities once as a visitor to let you try it out and help you decide if you would like to join that particular health club and take aerobics classes there. It is important to take advantage of these free trials. Choose an aerobics class you are interested in and visit it to see if you like it and feel comfortable. There should be aerobics classes offered for all interests and fitness levels. Within a class, a good teacher should be able to offer modifications for students based on your fitness level to customize a class to everyone. Look for an aerobics class that you find to be fun and enjoyable, and you will be more likely to stick to it and attend on a regular basis, thus increasing your physical fitness and weight loss. Look for an aerobics teacher that is certified and has a good teaching style that you enjoy and a lot of knowledge about fitness.
