Description of service
$500 is the price I pay for yearly maintenance on my speed boat which prepares it for winter. I am told that they flush all the fuel lines and anything else with water in it that might freeze. They clean the carpeting and do a mold treatment to ensure that all that lake water won't grow mold over the winter. Anti Freeze is put in the lines so any excess water they can't get out won't freeze. They then place mothballs throughout to stop any rodent from chewing any electrical or other vital part of the boat. They also disconnect the electric from everything so it won't short out and start a fire. This is all pretty basic maintenance that needs to be done in a colder climate to ensure that nothing will happen when you're not using the boat. It also helps the boat run better in the spring when you take the boat out for the first time. I store the boat myself so don't pay them for that.
Review of Service
I take the boat in by appointment and leave it for the day then when I'm called I come back and trailer it back to my garage where I store the boat. They are always very thourough in winterizing the boat. It always works great when we put it back in the water in the spring.
Tips
This is a necessity in Michigan otherwise you could cause some serious damage to the boat. I don't recommend you do it yourself otherwise you will have some even more expensive maintenance to do on your boat.
