Description of service
I had letterhead printed for our small non profit organization. Because we're a small organization, we searched for the cheapest printing services we could find. We had 10,000 sheets of letterhead printed one sided with two color ink. One color was a standard PMS color (blue) and the other was a custom pantone color (orange). The text was laser printed, flat on to white woven 24 lb. paper stock with text in upper and lower margins. We paid a nominal fee to have our logo and selected text typeset for the first time but this fee will not be incurred again in future printing jobs.
Review of Service
We were overall pleased with the service for the amount money we spent, however, like anything else, you get what you pay for. Although the printing company offered us a small discount as a non profit, there were several hundred pages that were blank and not printed. But besides that small complaint, the letterhead was printed beautifully and professionally. The staff was very helpful and offered to reprint an extra 500 sheets to replace the blank sheet found in our order.
Tips
One suggestion I have is to shop around and get several quotes from different printers. That way you can reference other printers prices and possibly persuade a discount out of a particular printer. Another suggestion is to shop local. Shipping costs can become very expensive, very quickly especially with a large order and the rising cost of fuel. Pick up your order whenever possible and it can save you a ton of money in shipping costs. And my final suggestion is to order any printed materials in bulk. Remember paper doesn't go bad and the more you buy the cheaper it gets. If you don't anticipate and changes that are going to have to be made to the text on your letter head, they buy as much as you are able to store. It is more economical in the long run.
