Description of service
Payment is for 1/2 hour of hands-on physical therapy; plus unlimited use of facility afterwards (sauna, whirlpool). Was also given a few small items to take home free of charge; foam roller and small set of wrist weights.
Saw therapist for 8 months for rehab after shoulder surgery (still in rehab).
Review of Service
Service very good; therapist ran on time, was very clear on her expectations of how things would progress. Also worked on a 'trial basis'; if we could not work well together then we would see how I worked with a different therapist.
Therapist opened with seeing what her goals were and wanted to know min; obviously there is a major outcome we both desired, but she wanted to talk about the specifics. She was very clear that therapy is not going to work quickly and I needed to be patient; this is where having a plan comes in; that way I would know I was always moving forward.
Tips
Find someone you work well with
Make certain whoever you choose has a professional degree in physical therapy and has been accredited, and that the certification is current
if PT is covered under your work plan ensure that therapist will accept the plan- and if therapist is in a practice, then see if receptionist is willing to do the paperwork for you (no harm in trying)
therapist can only work as far as the patient is willing to meet the therapist, so remember that if things aren't working it might not just be the therapist.
