Description of service
Rehabilition of my knees and lower back by a physical therapist to fix damage done by 20 years of dance. Each appointment, I went in for an hour. I had individual attention from the physical therapist. We made a 6 week rehab schedule. The first week was learning about my individual muscles and what really needed to be moved, built up, or stretched. The second week we focused on strengthening the muscles that needed to be stronger to move my knee cap back into place. We continued with these same excercises throughout the rest of the 6 weeks. In the third week, we worked with massage. Massaging the muscles to release the knee so I could walk more appropriately. Then continued this and then learning home work outs for when I finished the 6 weeks. Come the 6th week, I was able to do a large amount of excercises at home that did not require machines yet worked extremely well.
Review of Service
I loved the attention she gave me, not just my knee. It was important that she encourage me while working what needed to be worked. And to motivate me more, when I asked about help for the rest of my body, she helped me with excercises that not only helped my knee but also my back, arms, ankles and more. She was very helpful in helping my whole body, not just my knee. She said that the problems with my knee is not just something in the knee, its the work of the whole body.
Tips
If you do have to go to rehab for anything, I would suggest seeing a doctor first. I did and he was able to give me a perscription for my physical therapy that made each one hour session $40. But only for a few visits. I then had to pay $100 per hour. Most physical therapists I checked into or personal trainers run about $100 per hour. At least the ones with the appropriate training and attitude did. But if you can get a Dr's order, it does help with the price. Over all, even without the doctor it was worth the $100 per hour.
