Description of service
$50 per month pays for digital cable that includes approximately 400 channels, plus several music channels. This includes HDTV channels.
Review of Service
We have had no problems with the service, except for a couple of unavoidable outages after really big storms. Hookup was prompt, and our cable cooperates with our older TV as well as our TiVo. Having the 400 channels is nice because it includes six movie channels that play movies without commercials as well as almost every channel imaginable except for "premium" channels. There is also an online component with some free TV shows you can watch from your computer as long as you are a cable subscriber.
Tips
Try to get your TV and internet from the same service provider. Buying them together often saves money on both services. If you get your phone service bundled in as well, sometimes you can save even more money. A digital video recorder (DVR) like TiVo (or the one provided by the cable company for a small monthly fee, often around $10 a month) is a good investment when you have so many channels, because you can set it up to automatically record things you like. This makes sure you get the most entertainment for your money. Also remember that digital cable is a little slower when you are "flipping" channels, compared to basic cable. This doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it -- just that it takes a little longer for the channel to change. You get used to it very quickly.
