Description of service
I took part in a 5 week program to learn stand up comedy from someone who had been in the industry for 10 years. There were 12 people in our class. The class was two hours long.
Review of Service
There was a lot of one on one work here. Every week we each performed for the entire class. There was a lot of workshopping and peer review. It helped a lot to write material and perform it right away. It gave me a good idea about what would work and what didn't work in front of a live audience. The feedback from other class members was really good. It was also useful to see other people trying to learn the same things I did and see how they worked and what worked for them. The only complaint I have is that at the end of the class we had the chance to perform in a comedy showcase at a local bar but we had to pay an extra $100 to perform. I elected not to but I think it's kind of silly to have to pay someone else to perform, especially when they charged people to watch the performances.
Tips
Make sure you're going to a good company. Do some research and try to get recommendations from other folks that have tried these services to make sure it's not a scam.
