Description of service
I took an eight week long (college quarter) course in acting at a public university. It covered several aspects of performing arts as well as many techniques for both dramatic and comedic acting. We had access to the state of the art stage they had there and the auditions for major productions. They had a stage that rotated, lots of costumes and props, tools to build the sets with and all sorts of fancy lighting equipment. You had to pay the regular tuition price, which can be high these days, but scholarships were available for this department in particular.
Review of Service
The professors were awesome. They spent a lot of time making sure everyone knew what was going on and spent time to be sure everyone was comfortable. They also had extensive backgrounds in professional stage acting and it was great to hear about their experiences. They also had technical background as well and that was good to learn about too.
Tips
Make sure that you do your research and find qualified teachers. It costs a lot of money to get university level theatre education and if you pay that much, you should be sure it is more than worth the cost of the tuition. I know it was for me.
