Description of service
the theater lessons were 6 weeks of stage combat classes for children.
Each of these classes was 50 minutes long and was taught by an experienced stage actor/combat choreographer. He provided safe mock weapons for the children to use in choreography and taught them how to fall safely, how to look and sound authentic, and the different placements for safe onstage weapons handling.
The class itself was arranged through the local little theater.
Review of Service
Overall I was pleased with this class as an introduction to this type of theater.
I felt my money was well spent.
I would have liked to have seen the instuctor organize some sort of performance at the end of classes so that there was a more focused goal to the class.
The main drawback of the class was that small children were in the class with young teenagers and it created a distraction for the older children. It would have been more enjoyable for everyone if they had been separated by age.
Tips
6 weeks seemed to be a short time period to really delve into this sort of thing.
Given a few more weeks the kids could have really put something together and shown off their skills.
