the Price of Theater Performance Classes

Classes for improv comedy at a well-regarded improv theater troupe. The classes lasted a total of eight weeks. We covered basic techniques of longform improv comedy.

The price above was for an 8-week class; each class was 2 1/2 hours long. The class was extremely useful for me as an actor and comedian, covering the fundamentals of improv and going through more advanced techniques. Because the class started with very basic techniques and built on each one, each class was important in the grand scheme of things. Though I am sure that the quality varies from teacher to teacher, this particular teacher was excellent, very patient and helpful. The thing that I thought was most valuable about the class was simply the way it teaches you to make conversations ebb and flow. Even people who aren't interested in acting or performing at all could find some use from the class. I felt like I paid the right amount for the fun and experience I got out of the class.

Check out the teachers of your classes first, if you can. Usually, regardless of the school at which you are taking classes, the website will have information about what troupes or shows the teachers of the classes have been in prior to their teaching at the school.
