Description of service
I paid for a total of 50 cello lessons spread out once a week over a full year. I provided my own transportation to the location, where I got one-on-one tutoring from a concert cellist. I also got music and recommendations of shops to bring my instrument in to for repairs or tune ups. The lessons lasted an hour each.
Review of Service
I was impressed by the credentials of my instructor - she was very, very qualified to play cello professionally, much less to instruct someone else. She was very quick to correct errors in my form or expression, but not as much in the traditional music-teacher sense. She was actually very nice and approachable, and I could talk to her about what I really wanted to be able to play and what my goals for the cello were. She was very encouraging, and I think I improved greatly under her instruction.
Tips
If you're looking for music lessons, go to where musicians are. Check out general music shops, concert halls, universities, and specialty shops. Lots of people give lessons because they have this skill and are looking to make extra money from it, so it isn't hard to find an instructor - you just have to know where to go.
