Description of service
The school here provides free lessons in school where the child can use the school instruments. The requirement is however that they either rent or own a instrument to use at home to practice with. Of course they would like you to rent a good one as well. They give you information when your child starts taking classes. There were 2 companies we could rent from 1 gave a free month with 1 month rental to get you started.
Review of Service
We were quite happy to rent a instrument, however the biggest problem with this service is that it is not cheap by any means. Maybe if your child takes a cheaper instrument like a flute it wouldn't be so bad. But there is insurance and believe me when you are renting a cello for your child that is over 1000.00 you sure don't want to be without insurance in case something happens to it.
Tips
We rented one for 1 month and then got a month free then paid for 2 more months only to realize the child wasn't going to quit or really practice much at home but when I checked online and saw the prices of purchasing from a online auction it was the only way to go. We purchased a cello for 300.00 shipped with a hard case and the teacher even approved of the cello when presented for approval. I highly recommend renting and then purchasing if at all possible.
