Description of service
Cello lessons: this only included the actual lesson, not accompanist fees, equipment, or sheet music. The lessons were 45 minutes each.
Review of Service
I was overall pretty satisfied with the service I received. My teacher was tough - very tough; she didn't accept it if I hadn't practiced well, and once she even sent me home when she thought I hadn't prepared enough. She arranged group sessions, too; they were a combination of a multi-person lesson and a cello ensemble rehearsal. We learned a lot, but we didn't sound very good as a cello quintet; she didn't have enough students, so one of them wasn't very good and couldn't keep up. She had us play a couple concerts every year, one a creative concert and another serious; her husband accompanied on piano, but we had to pay extra for that. The teacher knew a lot, and was really good at getting it across, but I wouldn't call lessons with her fun. She was too serious for a lot of kids.
Tips
I didn't feel like I learned as much as I could, because sometimes I didn't practice enough for there to be anything to teach about. At first, too, I had a really bad cello, so it was hard to tell if I did well or not. So my tips would be to practice hard and make sure your equipment is good enough - your teacher can help with that.
