Can you imagine living in Florida in July with no air conditioner? Mine went out Friday night (of course !!) but luckily I found someone open on Saturday. By the time I woke up Saturday morning, even after 2 cool showers, I would have given them my firstborn son !!
Review of Service
Luckily they did not take advantage of me... and they could have!! I described where I lived and the air conditioning unit I was replacing and we decided to upgrade just one "notch" and I chose a 3 ton unit. It was the middle of the road. They ranged anywhere from 1 1/2 ton for $1,125 to a 5 ton for $1,760.00.
Tips
I had my air conditioner serviced every year and the salesman told me I had probably added 5 or 6 years to my unit by doing that. Mine had lasted 18 years !!! So my tip is, it's WELL WORTH the effort and cost to get your air conditioner checked every year.
Also, I had put bushes around the air conditioner to "hide it" and the serviceman said not to do that. I kept them trimmed back away from the unit, but he said they still block the correct airflow. Same goes for fencing and anything else you put there.
