It cost $2100 to replace a 4 ton air conditioner. The air conditioner cost $1700 and labor was $400. The company gave us a five year warranty on parts and labor. The air condition unit also has a 10 year limited warranty for the compressor.
Review of Service
After buying a six year old house last year, we were disappointed to find out that our air conditioner needed to be replaced. We had a home inspection before purchasing the house, but the weather was to cold (at the time of the inspection) to check the air conditioner. We were recommended by two different companies that it would be cheaper to replace the whole unit, rather than fixing it. At that time they had a clearance price on the same exact unit that we had. After checking prices for different units, I feel that it was an excellent price. The company was professional and finished the job fast.
Tips
You need to get estimates and opinions from different companies when there is a problem with your air conditioner. Make sure that the estimates are free. I recommend buying a home warrany when buying a house. It could end up saving you a lot of money in the long run.
