Description of service
My aunt is in an assisted living facility in Georgia. We in the family all pay what we can. The cost is $2000 a month and we split it. She has her own efficiency type apartment. It has a microwave for heating and a small refrigerator. It is decorated lovely and she has her own personal effects to make it home. There is an intercom system and she has a button she wears in case of an emergency. The staff checks on her three times a day and more if necessary.
Review of Service
The service is good. They have a central dining area where the people can gather and eat if they wish to. There is also a exercise room and a swimming pool. You can sign up for the gym or pool but you must sign up. They have a housekeeper come om twice a week for big cleaning. The patients pretty much keep their places. The facility offers outings and again you must sign up for these. The facility keeps a close eye on what the patients participate in. At the end of each month, they provide a statement with any additional costs. There always are. The $2000 a month is basics only.
Tips
Before putting a beloved one in an assisted living facility, really check them out. Check with the state, the better business bureau. Check for any pending lawsuits etc. Understand all costs.
