Description of service
Full back waxing. A hot wax is applied to small areas of the back. After the wax is applied, a piece of cloth is applied over the wax. Then it is pressed smooth. After that the strip is quickly torn from the body removing the wax as well as the hair with it. This is much more painful than it looks, especially if you have thick hair. The waxing removes more than just the hair and wax. It also removes a layer of skin which leaves your skin very irritated.
Review of Service
The service was fair. The location did not have a numbing cream available which make the waxing much more painful. The location was clean and private which is a positive. The waxing was done in a private room towards the back of the salon so it was just the tech and myself in the room. After waxing half of my back, the tech applied a soothing gel to the finished half which helped with the irritation and pain. The tech applied a final coat of the gel when finished with the entire back.
Tips
Bring a loose fitting dark shirt. Tight shirts are not comfortable after waxing. Don't plan on doing anything right afterwards. Just go home and shower and give your skin time to recover.
