Description of service
I paid $45 for dog grooming, which included a bath and blow dry, a haircut all over the dog's body, trimming the toenails, and a free hair bow. I dropped off the dog in the morning and picked her up about four hours later. The location was very convenient to my home. I was able to secure an appointment with only one day's notice.
Review of Service
The staff was friendly and accommodating. They asked how long I would like the dog's hair to be, and they listened to my description. However, they cut her hair a little bit too short anyway. They allowed me to pay by credit card upon picking her up. The receptionist called my cell phone to let me know when the dog was ready to be picked up. Grooming doesn't actually take four hours, so they must have kept her in a kennel most of the morning and then worked on her during the hour or so before I picked her up.
Tips
Ask for personal recommendations when seeking a groomer, especially from people who have the same breed of dog, or from people whose dogs you think are well-groomed. Also, ask the groomer if he or she has experience with this particular breed. Ask to see pictures of dogs that they have groomed. Make sure the place does not have an offensive odor, and that the dogs who are there seem content. Make sure you can SEE dogs being groomed, so you know that they do not mistreat the dogs.
