Description of service
I took a basics of beading class from a private instructor along with 5 other people in her home. It was a 2 hour course and included materials for 2 necklaces, a bracelet, and 3 pairs of earrings. I had to purchase two pairs of pliers ($12-$15) but she had extras available for a couple of people who forgot theirs. She talked a little bit about what we wanted to do with our skills and then we began to learn. We started with a necklace that was one beaded strand with a pendant in the center. We made one with two strands and a bracelet with a toggle clasp. She showed us how to knot string and use crimp beads. We made one pair of hoop earrings and 2 with ear wires. She showed us how to bend and loop the wire and where to cut it.
Review of Service
The instructor was patient and showed the general technique and gave us handouts with drawings and photos. She also gave individual attention as needed especially to an older lady who had forgotten her glasses. She could have had a larger crafting area but there was an extra student who signed up at the last minute.
Tips
Make sure you like the instructors style of jewelry before you take a class from them and make sure it is a small group so you will get individual attention of needed.
