Description of service
Instruction and tips for creating bead necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, etc. and ways to pick the best clasps, as well as ideas for attaching clasps to different jewelry pieces.
Review of Service
The class was okay, but not outstanding. It was only about half an hour, and some materials were included for use, like wire, clasps, and pliers. All extras, including the beads, needed to be purchased during the course of the class. The instructor gave some good ideas, but it was nothing novel--I could have come up with most of them on my own. The clasp section was very helpful, because sometimes the clasps on certain pieces can be more difficult than expected. I also learned a lot about different types and styles of beads, and the origination of some of them, as well as which ones are sturdiest and most durable.
Tips
Find out ahead of time if there are going to be extras that you will need to pay for in the class. I assumed all my materials, included some beads, would be included in the registration fee. Needless to say, I was surprised when I had to buy more beads to work on during the class. Also, if you know anybody who is good at beading, see if they can help instead of signing up for a class. The class didn't really teach me all that much, and was overall kind of a waste of my time and money.
