Description of service
I was getting the "blue screen of death" from my Windows XP based PC. After speaking with my son-in-law (who works for an IT company) he suggested I call for an in-home repair, so I contacted a company to send a technician to my house to repair my PC.
Review of Service
The technician seemed pretty knowledgeable, he came to the same conclusion my son-in-law did as far as what was wrong with my PC. He gave me my options (which were a) replace the hard drive or b) replace the hard drive and attempt to recover the data off of the old hard drive). I opted for data recovery and hard drive replacement. They replaced the hard drive right away and got it running within 3-4 hours and took my old hard drive to their offices to attempt data recovery, which they did and returned to me on DVDs 4 days later.
Tips
No tips really, since I had my son-in-law diagnose the problem first I thought I would save some money by having them not have to diagnose the problem, but they said it was necessary in order for them to do any further work on my PC.
