I was on a holiday with my family and i needed a boat for sight seeing near the sea shore. I wanted to rent the boat for approximately an hour or so. I asked for a cheap and comfortable motor powered boat that could easily accomodate 4 persons.
Review of Service
What i got from the dealer was a 17' boat with 9.9hp engine. Though i was asked to shell out $60 for the boat but i somehow managed to get the charges reduced to $50. The boat i got was spacious enough for 4 persons but the seats were too high and uncomfortable. The maximum speed of the boat was quite ok. But the engine was too moisy.
Tips
Firstly, try to book the boat well in advance as that proves to be a cheaper option; and also if you opt for renting at a very short notice, you might not be able to get the boat of your choice.
Secondly, you must try your hand at bargaining as the dealers try to their level best to extract money out of unsuspecting tourists.
Finally, you must choose the boat as per your requirements i.e. number of passengers and the task for which you want the boat (fishing or sight seeing). Do check the boat throughly before paying the price and be on time after completing the journey as the dealers charge extra even if you are late by, say, 2 minutes.
