the Price of a Dental Bridge

After having to have a tooth pulled, I decided to have a bridge done to avoid the unsightly look of a missing tooth. Beyond cosmetic reasons, I also disliked having a blank area in my mouth when I bit down on food, as it felt strange on my gum. I went to the dentist, who did xrays and the bridgework. The bridge was one fake tooth and two metal wings.

I disliked my dentist, as the charges were not what they had been estimated. However, I did some research and the final cost is roughly what the average is for this type of work. But still, if they give you an estimate it should be at least reasonably close to what they quoted (and this was several hudnred dollars more than what was originally quoted on the estimate).

Shop around, like you should with any service or product. Do not just jump into something like this. Also, expect to pay more than what is estimated, as I have a feeling this is so you decide to go with that particular dentist, because it will probably be more than what is quoted. Also, be sure your insurance covers this kind of work. Mine only covered half of the work, so the other half came out of my pocket.
