the Price of Dry Cleaning Men's Shirts

I was paying $2 per shirt to have a men's dress shirt dry cleaned with medium starch. The dry cleaning service was located in San Jose, CA and was part of a small, local chain of dry cleaning stores.

The service of the actual dry cleaning I would rate as very average. I have paid more than $2 at times and received a much better product. I have also paid less than $2 and received a better product as well. But overall, especially considering I was located in a major metropolitan area, I felt that $2 was a fair price to charge for the service. But why I kept going back was because of the customer service. The woman who owned the place always remembered me and she absolutely loved my wife. She was extremely friendly, took time to learn how I liked my shirts, and treated me like I was her best customer. And because of that, even though I didn't like how my shirts would get creased in the middle if I didn't pick them up right away, I continued to go back to this place.

It has been my experience that good dry cleaning is hard to find. But if you have the advantage of being in a large metro area, find the one you like best and stick with it. It is my experience that if you are loyal to a place and they know how you like your shirts they will do their best to serve you and give you what you want.
