Description of service
Our neighborhood dry cleaner charges $1.80 to dry clean a men's shirt. They give me the option of having my shirts boxed or returned to me on hangers, and there is not an additional charge for the box. I chose to box on this occasion and my three shirts were returned to me nicely folded and pressed, as well as clean. I dropped off a blue shirt and two white shirts on Tuesday after work and picked them up on Thursday after work.
Review of Service
I was satisfied with the service and the shirts came back clean, medium starched as I requested, and neatly pressed and folded in the box. I always look closely at the cuff areas and the collar to make sure the shirt is clean, because those are the two areas that are most often dirty. My cleaner does a good job on all of my clothes but shirts are done extremely well and come back looking bright and crisp. They also are careful to check the buttons and replace any that are missing or ed. There is usually a two day turnaround from the time I drop off the shirts. The price for the service is fair, even though it increases regularly and was $1.20 just two years ago.
Tips
Even if one cleaner is slightly less expensive than another, it is more important to find a cleaner that is convenient for you to get to, open late in case you need to pick up after work, and that does a really good job. Shirts are probably the most visible part of a man's outfit and it is important that button-down shirts be clean and crisp in the workplace, so don't settle for less quality just to save a little on the cost of cleaning.
