the Price of Hair Braiding

I paid 35.00 for my daughter to have her long hair braided by a professional for her winter break formal dance. She had a 30 minute appointment at the salon, which included a short consultation and the braiding. The salon provided a choice of free small silk flowers to go in the braid, or you could purchase fancy hair clips and ribbons if you wanted.

The service was really good. The salon was very nice, a little fancy even. The stylist worked well with my daughter to choose a braided hair design from a book of styles. She took the time to ask about the special event and what my daughter was wearing so the style of hair would be appropriate for the dress. She provided a few extra touches that made my daughter feel special, like a cup of tea when she arrived, and a choice of free silk flowers to be woven into the braid. My daughter was pampered and felt like a princess when she looked in the mirror at her new style.

When you make the appointment ask about hair decoration, we did not and were happy to find the silk flowers included in the price of the style. Find out if there are any special instructions for before and after the appointment- like do you shampoo before you go or is it included? and Can you sleep on your new style with out damaging it? For how long? Ask if they run on time, don't make the appointment to close to the event time, if they run late it may make you late. Remember to take a scarf to cover up your new style when you leave the salon, especially if the weather is damp or windy.
