the Price of Hair Braiding

Hair styling, cutting, color, conditioning, perms, consultations, waxing, massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, facial resurfacing and refining were all offered. I had my hair braided for New Year's Eve.

The service was fantastic. I had my hair braided into an intricate updo for a New Year's Eve bash downtown, and was not let down in the least. The salon was relaxing and inspiring, and created a sense of peace and calm throughout the entire appointment. I have very long, very thick hair, and it took several hours to get it braided and styled to my specifications, but the stylist was patient and understanding, and only inflicted minimal pain as far as pulling and tugging to obtain the most perfect style for a great night on the town. The time paid off, and I left there with an awesome do' that turned heads and got compliments all night long.

Don't fall asleep with the braids in, whatever you do, unless you never want to get a brush through it again as long as you live. It took three deep conditionings for me to be able to get a comb through my hair in the shower, and then another week for the roots to stop hurting from where the braids and pins were. OUCH! Be patient, and expect a little bit of pain for intricate braids--it can take hours of time to get it the way you want it.
