Description of service
This is the price for delivery of a grocery order of less than $100. The order must be over $50 in order to get delivery. In this case the order was $76.58. The price includes a personal shopper selecting the items I chose over the Internet, ringing them up, and bagging them. The items were delivered to my door in containers that kept cold foods cold and frozen foods frozen. If my total was more than $100, I would have only paid $6.95 service charge.
Review of Service
This is the first time I used this service and I thought it was great. I spent a lot of time online shopping for my items, but I would probably be quicker the next time now that I am used to the process. I did not have to be home to receive my items as the perishable items were packed in coolers. As it turned out I was actually home and my food was delivered within the two hour time period promised when I placed my order. I am laid up with a back injury, so this service was a great benefit to me. I didn't have to walk through the store, lift products in and out of the cart, load and unload my car, etc. All I had to do was accept delivery right at my front door. I do like to pick out my own merchandise, and the website really allowed me to look at the different items and choose between various sizes, varieties, and alternative brands. It was not much different than being in the supermarket myself. You can even view nutritional information for the products. I was also able to enter my manufacturers' coupons right online.
Tips
There are specific delivery periods that are less popular -- they will take one dollar off of your service charge if you accept delivery during one of these periods. You must order by 3 pm for shipping the next morning and by midnight for shipping the next afternoon or evening. Tipping is "optional but appreciated."
