Description of service
Per instructions from my diabetic doctor. I was sent to a Nutritional Service. It was not covered by my insurance. I made the appointment from a list of approved places my doctor's office gave me. It was to be a one time visit in which the nutritionist would give me pointers on eating for a diabetic. I made the appointment which took 3 weeks to get. You had to have a referral for an appointment. The one time fee was $150.00 to be paid in full.
Review of Service
The place was extremely nice and furnished very well. It appeared to be busy and the staff was very professional. My nutritionist was extremely well versed in diabetes and gave me very good pointers to help me keep my blood sugars in line. She had all types of good literature on eating healthy and staying in your limits. My session lasted about an hour and a half. This included a video which I found a bit boring but some good information in it. I was served tea while there and the atmosphere was relaxing. I was even given advice on vitamins and supplements to take. All in all the experience was a good one with valuable information.
Tips
Make sure you have referrals to go to a reputable nutritionist. Know if your insurance pays or if you will have to pay up front. Know the costs. Take questions you have and get the answers.
