the Price of Engagement Portraits

We got engaged on Valentine's Day and wanted to get our pictures taken for the local paper and to have some keepsake memories from this special time in our lives. We wanted some indoor pictures and some outdoor pictures to choose from. We contacted a local photographer and set up a sitting. The price included the sitting fee and 4 sheets of pictures of our choosing. We chose 1 8x10 portrait and 6 5x7s to complete the package. We ended up with 3 different poses.

The photographer was really good at listening to our ideas and taking them to the next level. She knew just what we were going for and was good at keeping the mood romantic to capture the expressions we wanted. The cost we paid was less than several other places I called and we were well satisfied with the results. Now that we are done, I would have liked to get a few more of the poses. I think I would pay the extra money next time and have a disc made to keep. That way you can print all the pictures you want.

Get recommendations for local photographers. We were very happy with the photographer we found in our small town. I would not have known to call her for a quote if I hadn't been asking around. I had forgotten there was a studio in town. It was more special because we took pictures at "our" spots around town and that was very fun.
