the Price of Engagement Portraits

We got several poses taken shortly after our engagement. We wanted pictures for the memory album and also one to put into the local paper. We got a package that included the sitting fee at our favorite beach as well as one pose at the studio with a more formal backdrop. The studio also submitted the picture to the paper for us which made things easy on us. The actual photos that were printed for us were 1 8 x 10 and 2 5 x 7s and 4 wallet sized pictures. Since we had two locations, we had two appointments with two photographers. The price did not include frames.

We were pleased with the photos we chose. The price was good, considering the time put into it, shooting at two locations. We ended up choosing only the photos taken at the beach. I think the formal portraits may not have turned out as well because that photographer did not develop a good relationship with us as he got us into the different poses. The photographer that met us at the beach location really made both of us feel relaxed and it showed in the pictures. We were very thankful we had decided to pay the extra and get some taken at "our" spot" since those were the best photos of us in the end.

Next time, I would check around with friends for names of photographers they've worked with that made them feel relaxed.
