Description of service

I went to the psychiatrist for an anxiety disorder. They also do treatment and diagnosis of certain psychological disorders, including anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. Also offers consultations, diagnostics, and testing, as well as referrals and treatment plans.

Review of Service

I am not so sure I like the psychiatrist. I always feel like things are extremely impersonal, and I never feel like I have had a chance to say the things I want to say. I also feel like I don't play a very big role in my own treatment when it comes to the ideas I have for dealing with anxiety. I feel most of my input and concerns are brushed off without much thought. I feel I am just a chart, and not a person, and I spend more time going over the initial issues than what the current situation is. I am looking into switching doctors, if my insurance will allow it.

Tips

Ask friends if there is anybody they recommend and can trust. A psychiatrist is somebody who you should feel open and honest with if you are going to get to the roots of what the problem is. Don't let him or her rush you through a visit, and don't let them just write a prescription and send you on your way. Find out if it is really the best course of treatment for you.
