Description of service
I went to see a psychiatrist for my depression. This was my second visit to her, and the first visit is $250 while the second and all others after that are $170. She had already taken my history so this was discussing how things had been since the last time I was there and how the meds were working (not very well).
She gave me some recommendations like exercising and getting a support group and things like that but did not address the fact that the medication seemed to not be working. She said we wouldn't change the medication until I tried the other cognitive and exercise solutions.
Review of Service
I was disappointed that it did not feel like she had been listening to me about the medication because I have been on medication long enough to be able to know if it is working or not. However, she said that if the things she was talking about didn't work, we could change medication on my next appointment. It was hard to wait though, because I felt so bad.
Tips
It is important to feel that your psychiatrist listens to you. If you aren't convinced that yours is listening, try to find a new doctor.
