the Price of Exterior House Painting

I had to get my cottage ready for the winter and I didn't thing it could take one more winter without a new coat of primer and paint. So I hired a local house painting company to do all the work since I wasn't going to be around. I know this could be risky since I would only be able to see the paint swatch on my computer to approve it. $5000 included the primer, paint and labor. I believe they may have had to do a bit of scraping also to get some of the old chunks off the house so it could paint smooth.

As far as I know the painters took two days to paint the entire cottage which is about 1500 sq feet. I had my neighbor watch over the process a little just so I could be sure it was getting done. The first day they scrapped and primed and the second day they painted. Luckily the primer was about the same color as the paint so it only took two coats of paint to cover the house and make it look great.

I was worried about not being there to oversee the project and make sure it got done correctly, but it turned out great and with very little work from me, so I was very happy and look forward to enjoying my cottage next spring and summer for many years.
