Description of service
We had a full house exterior repaint in the summer of 2007. It included scraping and preparing all the old surfaces, and a two color repaint, as well as oil satining our deck. The house is two story 1850 square foot, and the deck is upper level 300 square feet. The price for the entire job was $7600 and took about 2 weeks to complete.
Review of Service
The house looked great. I think painting is the cheapest thing you can do to really upgrade the whole of your house. We did a touch-up walk through at the end of the job and could find very little that needed correction. Our only complaint was that after the job was complete it took a while for the final debris and ladders to be taken away. Other than that we received prime service and are very happy with the price we paid.
Tips
Like all construction jobs, having a contractor who supplies you with a schedule for your work is key. We were provided a day by day schedule and they kept very close to their original time line. Since sometimes there is a division between the management and the labor, I think it's best to talk a little with the actual painters and make sure they know specific instructions. It would be nice to not have to take these additional measures, but in the most practical terms, it is the best way to get what you want without any mistakes.
