Description of service

I had the heel replaced of a pair of casual women's shoes, because they had worn down. They were not high heels, just 1/8 inch square heel on casual shoes that are virtually flat. The shoes were made of leather, and the material underneath the heels was hard plastic. They cut back the hard plastic and replaced it with their own heel material. They then replaced the heels with equally thin rubber. They also polished the shoes to make them shine more. They did not fix small additional worn places like the very front of the shoes.

Review of Service

They were unable to replace the leather around the thin heel, which had already worn away. Rather than attempt to fix that otherwise (which I would have preferred even at a higher cost), they opted to just replace the thin heels and put in some new material where the shoe was worn down too far. I was happy with the choice of rubber, as it made the shoes less slippery on smooth floors. The shoeshine also made the shoes look much better. However, I would have liked them to fix small parts where the shoe was worn as well, such as at the front toe section.

Tips

While they did a good job replacing the heel, and shining the shoes, I recommend asking beforehand whether or not they intend to fix up every little worn part of the shoe, or whether the price only includes the basic repairs that you specifically mentioned.
