Description of service
There's nothing better than a comfortable pair of shoes. I had a really comfortable pair of leather penny loafers. I had paid $70 for them three years ago and I just didn't want to give them up. The tops were fine. The heels were worn down in the back and I really didn't want to get new shoes and spend so much time and effort breaking them in. I remember when I was a kid and my parents always had their shoes repaired - now we just throw them away and buy new.
I looked in the yellow pages and chose the one closest to where I worked; I was worried that it was the smallest ad in the phone book.
Review of Service
I was shocked at the number of shoes I saw in the repair shop. I didn't realize people still had their shoes repaired. I commented about the small ad in the phone book and he said he didn't need it. He had a great repeat business and word of mouth was his best advertising. He said some people had shoes that were twenty years old and he just kept re-soling them.
It took one day and my shoes were like new.
I was extremely pleased with the work and the price.
Tips
If your shoes are comfortable and look good on top - get them re-soled and re-heeled. The price is so much less than buying new shoes and you get to keep those comfy shoes.
Buy expensive shoes and keep them up.
