Description of service
I use a nationally known satellite company for my internet access. The inital installation costs for this service was $150, a flat fee for them to come to my home and install a special satellite that would be able to transmit internet data to my computer. It is high speed, way faster than dial up, but not quite up to par with cable or DSL, but is still pretty fast in its own right. I also had to agree to a two year contract in order to get this price.
Review of Service
The service is fine. I do find, every once in a while, that I wish it were faster, but it's nothing that I can't deal with. The price of the service each month is outrageous, but i'll pay it if it means I don't have to deal with the cable company anymore. The personal that installed the dish was ver polite, and didn't take much time putting everything together. I was for sure they were going to leave a mess, or tear something up, but after the dish was installed everything was clean and very sharp looking.
Tips
If you don't mind dealing with the poor customer service that the cable company offers, go with them - they are a lot cheaper. But if you're like me and fed up, go with satellite. Call around to different companies and see who offers the most for the least price. You can also research this information online.
