Review of Service
Service was only okay- as usual for this sort of thing, they only give you a window in which they will be there, not a very precise time. Annoying, but expected. Also they are not very flexible during after-work hours, which makes sense but it is hard to take the time off work to get your internet installed! Other than that they were very nice, the guy that came in to do it was friendly and polite, explained everything that was being done, and also explained how to get help later and expalined the guarantees and so on. I guess it is all part of good service, but it was nice to have him do all that anyway.
Tips
I would suggest seeing if there is any possible way of hooking this up yourself; I am not sure if it all must be done by the company, or if you can do it yourself (or with a knowledgeable friend) if you have the equipment, the technical know-how, and the company knows that they will have to do the accessing process... it seems like a lot of money to pay for less than an hour's work.
Ah well, it was a necessity.
