Description of service
I purchased from a local retailer my satellite internet service. Included in the price of the system was: installing the satellite dish, running the cable into the house, installing the modem, connecting the system to my computer, and setting up my computer.
Review of Service
The installer was very inexperienced. He ran the cables along the outside wall of my house, and drilled a huge hole through my living room wall to bring the cable through instead of running them through the basement and up to the living room. It took him 6 hours to install and set up my system. Ultimately, I had problems because he used the wrong size cable and had to have another company and rewire the whole house. I am now stuck with this huge hole in my wall.
Tips
When you are thinking of having satellite internet installed in your residence, please be sure it is a reputable business. Ask questions like how long they have been installing systems? Do they use genuine parts? What is the percentage of return repairs? Will I have a say as to where the dish is mounted and the cables run? These are important questions to ask, otherwise you may be stuck with shoddy service.
