This price included a full genital examination for myself and my wife, as well as a sperm sample submission to determine my fertility levels. The whole process took a few hours and also included a follow-up appointment to discuss the findings. I do not know how much the testing of the sperm cost, as I work for a laboratory and they pay for any lab tests I need for free. My wife did not get a fertility check this time.

My wife and I wanted to see if we could get pregnant because she was having so many issues with her birth control pills (side effects like migraines). We did not want to get pregnant, so thought checking to see if we were fertile may help. My family has a history of fertility problems, so I was the one to be checked this time around. The results showed that I was infertile, just as we suspected. The doctor told us that birth control should not be an issue for us at all. The doctor was very nice. He was a bit surprised we were there to make sure we couldn't have a baby instead of wanting one. Guess that is typical.

Realize that its much easier to check sperm than egg count, so go that route first if you are in the same situation as us. Not everyone wants kids, and its nice that you can see if you can get off of birth control like this. My wife has since stopped taking birth control and feels great. I would recommend this to anyone. Its expensive, but not as pricey as a baby or health issues associated with birth control.
