Description of service
I received services for infertility, I had ultrasounds every other day as well as blood work, three cycles of artificial insemination and medications as needed. My payments were mostly for the medications, as I was lucky to be one in one of those states that required that insurance pay for infertility treatments. Most my medications were not included in the cost or I had to pay a large co-pay for these services. Th office visits were $10.00 per visit with an average of $300.00 a month on medications.
Review of Service
I received IUI, or interuterian insemination, this is when the doctor places the sperm inside the uterus via a catheter. There is no price you could have charged me that would have been too much to pay in order to have my children. I would have gone even if insurance would not have been paying most of the charges.
Tips
There are so many things you should know before embarking on this time in your life, you need to know your doctor, discuss all your options and have a clear plan before you get started. Find out if any medications have been donated to your dr office, find out if there is a support group for your dr office and learn that your office staff will become your best of friends. This is a hard time in the life of a couple, it is important that you communicate and are honest with yourself and your doctor about not only your feelings but your symptoms as well.
