Description of service
My health insurance covered some of the cost. I had to pay my regular co-pay and some of the amount of the fertility medicine cost but it didn?t cover artificial insemination. It would pay for everything but the actual insemination. You can call your insurance to see what they would cover and not cover or look at your plan. My services were basically going to get a consultation with my fertility specialist which was about $200 per hour and he also did an ultra sound which was included in that price. But insurance coverages vary widely. I would look into getting an insurance that would cover a lot of the costs before deciding to go see a specialist.
Review of Service
My experience was pretty exciting. I couldn?t get pregnant and knew that it would take awhile for me to get pregnant. I went to the specialist and he really helped in identifying when to try to get fertilized by my husband. The overall cost was worth it. I didn?t get artificial insemination and did end up getting pregnant naturally because of the tips given. I would definitely try it again!
Tips
It is very important to do your research ahead of time that way you know if the doctor you are going to see is good. You must find out from others who have seen that doctor or find out by searching online. Don't waste your money and time by going to someone who isn't well-known in the field. You have to do the research before choosing your doctor. Find others with issues and use the same doctor if they got good results. Also find an insurance before hand that will cover some costs.
