the Cost of Dog Training

I was always told to wait until the dog matures a little before I commit to the investment of dog training school. That way the dog will retain what it learns a little better. Plus Goldens are very smart doge. The school lasted two weeks, three times/week and I had to attend all the classes so the dog would be used to the same person and they said that it would transfer easily to other family members if the training was done right. My dog learned basic skills including, sit, roll over, bark, lay and fetch. But best of all they attempted to train our dog not to chew anymore.

The trainer was an old couple who have owned a kennel in our area for about 20 years. They were very friendly and you could tell that they love dogs because the knew all 6 of the dogs and owners by name and type. In the end the result was fairly successful, but our dog still loves to chew the furniture. Overall I'm very satisfied with the service and the training that my dog received.

The biggest potential problem of dog training classes is distractions. Mainly the other dogs and owners. They did a nice job of dealing with it, but it is something to consider if your dog isn't the most social.
