the Cost of Dog Training

The dog trainer I worked with was willing and able to train my dog in a limited amount of time while working for 25 dollars per hour. This included taking my dog (and sometimes another dog to be used for parts of the training process) to various places like the dog park, pet stores, and other places for socialization.

I was able to be present for as much of the time as I wanted to be, usually I was only there when she asked me to learn something new along with the dog to strengthen the training. I got homework weekly from her and the process included a time investment on my part as well.

My dog always came home happy and tired. She changed quickly and blended into the house environment more without being trained in ways that "broke" her spirit. I also learned a great deal about what I was doing wrong and right as a dog owner and was able to change my behavior to work with the dog instead of being an inconsitent leader for our pet.

Be ready to commit to change. I promise that if your dog needs training you do too! A good trainer will help you and your dog work together, but no trainer can do it alone.
