Description of service
I paid for a private trainer to come to my house once a week for an hour-long lesson. The training program lasted six weeks. We worked on basic obedience commands (heel, sit, stay, down, and come), plus boundary training and a few behavioral issues (in my case, jumping, not coming when called, and barking). The price included a lifetime guarantee on my dog's training, plus a collar and a leash, so I did not have to purchase any extra equipment. I was able to pay the fee in three separate payments. The price was a flat fee, no matter how many lessons I needed. The trainer said that most people needed between 4 and 6 lessons, but that she would keep coming out until I was satisfied with my dog's behavior.
Review of Service
The quality of service I received was excellent. At the end of the training course, my dog was MUCH better behaved and listens to me 99% of the time -- and if he doesn't listen, I know how to work with him. I felt like the trainer really listened to my needs and concerns, and customized her training to fit both my personality and my dog's.
Tips
I called several dog trainers before I decided on this particular trainer. The price was a factor, but the trainer's availability (I needed evening appointments) and training methods also played a large part.
