the Cost of Wedding Photographers

This was a package deal that included 8 hours of photography services (unlimited photos), 2 albums of 3 1/5 x 5 photos (total of 200 pictueres), an album of 25 8x10's, a cd with all of the proofs from the wedding, and a musical DVD of all of the photo's taken at the wedding. It also includes rights to reprint any of the pictures from CD.

The photographer was really great. He arrived a bit late at our home, but he did call to let us know. The only problem with that was that the pre-wedding photos were a bit rushed and there were a couple of shots I would have like to have had that I totally forgot to mention to him since we were in such a hurry. He did a wonderful job during the wedding, taking a lot of pictures without being the least bit intrusive. After the wedding he took many posed photos in the church, and then followed the bridal party to a local park to take additional photos. At the wedding reception he captured many, many candid shots of family and friends in addition to photos of the cutting of the cake, garter and bouquet throws, toasts, etc. He made a point to check with us often to see if there were any particular people we wanted photos of.

The cd was complete and delivered to my daughter and son-in-law within 2 weeks. Once they chose their which pictures they wanted to be printed, it took about 3 weeks to receive the albums and DVD. We all felt this was excellent turnaround time!

There were only a few negatives about this photography service. As mentioned above, he was a bit late arriving at our home before the wedding. Also, at the church he was taking orders from too many people after the wedding, causing a bit of confusion and some delays. Other than that, everything was perfect!

Make a detailed list, before the wedding, of people you want pictures of, and who should be in each of the posed pictures, AND where each of these pictures should be taken. Be open to suggestions from the photographer though, as they are the ones with the experience. Ours came up with some excellent ideas for pictures. Also, be sure to let the photographer know who exactly he should be taking orders from during the event!
