Description of service
We hired a wedding photographer to take pictures of our wedding and he charged us $600 for the five-hour session. He was at the outdoor location for two hours before the ceremony to take pictures of us getting ready and pictures of the family and various group shots. He took pictures for about an hour during the ceremony and right after it was over, and then spent two hours taking pictures during the reception/party. He had a young assistant with him also, but we were not charged for that. For the price, he also provided us with a small 25-photograph wedding album, and of course, we could order more pictures for an additional charge.
Review of Service
Hiring a photographer for a special event is always worrisome because if he doesn't do a good job, there is no way to fix the mistakes. Fortunately for us, our photographer did a really nice job and the pictures were clear, well-framed and I think all of the people that attended were in at least one of the photos, which is one indication of a solid and experienced event photographer. We were satisfied with the price, even more so when we saw that he had an assistant with him at the wedding, and we ordered about 200 pictures.
Tips
A referral from a recent client is really the best way to find a good photographer and you should discuss in advance the types of packages and the cost for the services and any additional charges that may be included. You don't want to have to worry about the money aspect of your photographs while you are enjoying the day, so make sure everything is clear in advance.
